Yell (The Windhouse on Yell)

One of Britain's spookiest building projects is about to get under way.
Property owner Andrew Taylor plans to renovate a "ghost-filled" house on the Shetland isle of Yell.
The castellated Windhouse, which has been derelict since the 1920s, is reputedly one of the most haunted homes in the country.
The ghostly goings-on are attributed to the presence of an ancient graveyard under the original structure.

One of the best-known of all Shetland folktales is "The Trow of Windhouse" or "Trow of Yell." Trows are the local fairy folk, but the trow in the tale is nothing like the normal ones. Unlike the little people or slim types capable of passing for human, this one was a huge mountain of gelatinous blubber.

A giant monstrous creature attacks the house in the night, and he grabs his faithful axe (with him since the shipwreck, rather surprising) and gives chase outside. He buries his axe in the giant and kills it. He sees on the ground there naught but a shapeless mass. The family is happy to see him alive Christmas Day, and he points out where he killed it. The heather there had turned bright green and the spot is supposedly still known to the locals (in one version, there's an actual fence around it).

Two human skeletons possibly dating back to the 13th or 14th century have been found just inches under the ground at what is dubbed Shetland's most haunted property.
The find - at Windhouse in Yell - confirms long-held views that the dilapidated former laird's house, which dates back to the early 18th century, sits on an old graveyard.
The remains were found when surveys had to be carried out on the site after Windhouse's owner, who bought the property last year, started looking into redeveloping it back into a house.

Das Windhouse ist auf jeden Fall eine äusserst interessante Location ... generell als auch in paranormaler Sicht (zumindest den ganzen Berichten nach): eine Dame in Seide gekleidet (deren Skelett unter den Dielen der Haupttreppe gefunden wurde), ein Dienstmädchen, welches unsichtbare (?) Schritte hinterläßt, ein Geisterhund und einiges mehr soll dort vorkommen.

Ich habe versucht, Fotos oder Videos bez. dieser Location (im Bezug auf das Paranormale) zu finden, was mir allerdings leider nicht gelungen ist. Falls jemand evtl. Entsprechendes hat bzw. gefunden hat, bitte melden !

Das Torhaus zum Anwesen wird als Hostel genutzt:
Stockbetten um 12 Pfund/Nacht, direkt unterhalb des Haupthauses.

Direkt vor dem Haus, der Zugang ist gesperrt wegen akuter Einsturzgefahr.

Wie in den Artikeln erwähnt war wieder ein Tierkadaver auf dem abgezäunten Grundstück hinter dem Haus zu sehen.

Die Spuren der Ausgrabungen, anscheinend dort wo die menschlichen Skelette gefunden wurden.

Ebenso Ausgrabungen direkt an der Hausmauer.

Anscheinend Reste eines jungsteinzeitlichen Kammergrabes auf dem Grundstück (zumindest auf der Landkarte eingezeichnet), der Hügel wurde schon lange als Ritualstätte genutzt.

Blick ins Hauptgebäude, die hölzernen Wandkonstruktionen sind noch zum Teil erhalten.

Definitv einsturzgefährded, die ehemalige Dachkonstruktion liegt im Inneren.
